Lowland Snow in Puget Sound

Anytime we hear about snow in the Puget Sound area, it’s greeted with a mix of emotions.  Some love it, and some hate it.

As the locals know we don’t get snow very often and when it does it rarely sticks around for long.  It takes a specific recipe of the right ingredients and perfect timing to create a snow event.

The weather forecasts usually talk about the elevation where snow is likely to fall.  If you want to check the elevation where you are located there is a great website call What Is My Elevation.

According to this site, our office located in Lynnwood is 522 Feet Above Sea-Level.  Give the website a try and  to check your elevation.

When we do get snow, most of us experience gridlock on the slippery roads.  While it’s best to stay home, there are some tips to keep in mind to stay safe and prepared.

If you must travel in snowy conditions…..

  • Always keep your gas tank full
  • Keep a safe distance from cars around you
  • Always use your seat belt
  • Make certain your tires are properly inflated
  • Keep an emergency kit in your car, including water and warm blanket

Always make sure you have current Auto Insurance ID cards in your car.  Give us a call if you have any questions.

Be safe out there!
